Wind power is one of the fastest growing forms of alternative energy in the world. More and more, wind power mills are seen in the countryside, in large wind farms and for the most part, away from city life. But a new form of wind power is now designed to work in an urban environment. VOA producer Zulima Palacio has the story. Mill Arcega narrates.

By retardedbaboon [Affiliate User] 1228114221 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI know these shucksters and have met them personally. This a 100% a scam. The deal is they want to get the subsidy from the government and sell you crap that is almost free (after the tax credit). These turbines are not efficient and have been around for 100 years. Sad to see scammers like these.
By slackjacket71 [Affiliate User] 1228109216 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveExcept that they produce power at 50% the efficiency of horizontal axis types. The load on lower bearings is also a problem.
By f4stcr4p [Affiliate User] 1228106050 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThey're US$5K and require no special electrical knowledge; plugs-in to an outlet in your home circuit and spins your meter backwards.
Expect another $1K for installation, no crane required; use a Gin-Pole.
It's not a Savonius, but another foil type.
9 metres high for 30% power saving is no use,and any wider would be ridiculous in your garden.
Go back to the drawing board.
I totally agree with the concept
it`s a future and soon I`ll get one of those for my house to be independent.
thanks for posting this.
another reason to get up every day. hope for the future.
seems like wind power is the way to go. can't wait to get off the grid!
