  • This is something I ...

This is something I have seen in CO too, but I have also seen the flipside there. The dispensary I went to was very professional, and did everything by the book.
As for MI only time will tell. I think they are lucky in that they have a lot of places to learn from, so they should be able to pull it off. I think what it comes down to is how they regulate dispensaries, bc they need to exist for the patients but it needs to be done in a respectful way to everyone, incl. the community.

  • CA has not ...

CA has not regulated things like they should to make everyone feel comfortable with everything. For instance, communities are not getting anything back from having dispensaries around. While I don't agree that medication should be taxed, I do think there should be certain guidelines any dispensary should operate under, if not just for their own reputation as a legitimate medical facility. The focus on it being medicinal has been totally lost in some places in CA.

  • I agree about the ...

I agree about the difference between Michiganders and Californians, like two sides of a planet. Two more Q's, if you don't mind:

1-What mistakes do you think California made?
    2-Did Michigan make any mistakes?

I think he will recruit the right people to help him get everything done. He doesn't seem to be one for making hasty decisions. If people also get involved things will get done faster. There is a lot of momentum still, that if continued, will create some awesome changes.

I really hope you are right. Obama has enough intelligence to evaluate it logically from all angles, and I am sure he will. I am completely excited to see what the next four years have to come. :-) Not for marijuana reform necessarily, but for what this country is about to experience. Election night was just the beginning of a pretty beautiful time in history.

  • It's just a matter ...

It's just a matter of time before marijuana is legalized. Obama did it in Hawaii and college. He knows it ain't bad. But, he's going to go through the motions and studies or piggy back that recommendation to decriminalize from Britain at the UN. Happy days are coming. LOL. great vid.

  • Get involved with ...

Get involved with organizations working to change the law. Orgs like NORML, MPP, ASA, and others (depending on which you prefer). Next, get your own message out there. Write to congress, senate, and other government officials to let them know how you feel. Post videos on here. Get out there and speak up. The more people who speak up will help change things.

  • Thanks for the ...

Thanks for the great question. The MPP played a very big part in the victory for the sick and dying in Michigan. They gave around $1.76 million to help get the message out and educate voters. I think Michigan understands they are not CA and they can learn from the mistakes there, so the attempt to have CA law officers scare MI voters failed. Finally, I think Michigan has a compassionate population.
The advice for anyone who wants to change the law is...

I would like to hear how you think Michigan won its relief from Marijuana Prohibition for doctors' patients. What advice would you give newly blue states, like Virginia and Florida, on acheiving the same victory that "medicinal" marijuana users received in Michigan?
