    OH.

    I unerstand.

Its just that I've heard of a story, where someone's hearing was in in the MRI room, and that it was jerked out, and the patient had to undergo an operation.

The person was all right, but he had to get another hearing, ait, and it cd have been worse.

let me understand you don't want to lay inside a cylinder but you are will in to go inside a machine with a ton of metal spinning arround you a couple times a second, Hmmm? Actually I can understand the claustrophobia, but that boy wasn't killed because of an MRI machine he was killed by human error.

I don't know of any MRI machines that have oxygen built-in. There may be oxygen piped into the room. Even then, piped-in systems can fail, too, so if you have a patient who needs supplemental oxygen, it's vital to have a non-magnetic cylinder for back-up.

It loooks like a pretty old magnet anyway. Looking at the watermelon representing the head they probably wanted a true life demonstration.

  • Most modern MRI ...

Most modern MRI machines have an oxygen attachement built in to the bed top. So there should be no need to take a cylinder in to the scan room. They should scren you before hand with a questionnaire, if you have been a metal worker at anytime then you need to tell them that as well. They may even perform the odd x-ray before hand to check for metal foregin bodies if this becomes an issue, and they will frisk you before you enter the scan room for things like coins, keys and belt buckles etc.
