Wine has a spirit that brings gladness to the heart, but in excess is a mocker. For wine represents the blood of mankind. And at the Last Supper, the Son gave the cup of wine as a remembrance of His sacrifice for mankind. And as He said "Truly I will not drink of this cup of the fruit again until I drink it anew in My Father's heavenly kingdom." For this time man will not drink the wine, but God will drink the blood of mankind.
