I was dubious about this ..
.. then I checked the following website: www.australiancephalopods.com/occy_defense.html
Apparently, some types of octopus have developed exceptional camouflage capacities. They can produce elaborate colour patterns and highly complex skin textures capable of matching a wide range of backgrounds from sand and reef rubble, through to spiked corals and seaweeds. If I had not read this on an official site, I would not have believed it! I have now changed my mind and believe this video to be original and genuine .. as remarkable as it is!
