  • Another way

    that doesn't require you to buy anything is to borrow a friends digital video camera and firewire cord. Then hook the video out on the VHS to the video in on the digital video camera. Hit play on the VHS and record on the video camera. This will convert it to digital on the camera. When completed, just fire up your video editing software (like Windows Movie maker) and connect the camera to the computer using the firewire cord. Import, edit and render. Cheap and very easy.

  • Have StashSpace transfer VHS to DVD

    You can do this with video conversion service StashSpace. You just send them your tapes and they convert them to digital for you. It costs $7 for the transfer and you can get DVDs right away or use their online video editor to watch, share, and edit your video to create custom DVDs. Check them out online or give them a call they did a great job with my home movie collection.
