    I did this today, I upgraded from an 80 gig to a 250gig and it worked perfectly. Saved absolutly everything, password info for playstation hom and store, all my vids and music and save files..absoutly brilliant and highly recommended.

    get norton partition magic(torrent if you wanna just get it free), hook up your external hdd, pick the hdd on the norton partitionmagic startup, format and then assign it as a fat32 HDD. hope this helps.

    its because first of all hdd manafacturers think 1mb is 1000kb when its 1024 so real space is 232gb and then the ps3 stuff was installed so 205gb left.
