Answering yet another e-mail, this time with a question about whether I have ever seen a dead human body sit up.

Not all dead bodies make noises. Some of the noises coming from dead bodies are rather loud while other times they are barely noticable. I frequently hear air escaping from bodies because in many cases I am on the scene of a recent death where air is still trapped in the body's lungs and the body is still warm and without rigor.
