Rex Harris' $1000 / 100 Pound Weight Loss Challenge

January 2nd is here and today officially begins the $1000, 100 pound Weight Loss Challenge.

So why am I doing this? Well, I need the accountability. For me, there's one reason why I'm overweight... me!

I LOVE to eat... and there's no hiding that fact. I'm not going to pretend that my weight issue is the fault of someone else, the media, my body... it's all on me.

In order for me to accomplish my mission, there needs to be some real motivation to lose the weight and keep it off.

I figure putting the whole thing online where people can watch will keep me accountable and on point as I don't want to look like a failure.

My father told me, at a very young age, that it's vitally important that I be a man of my word, so here it is...

My mission in 2009 is to lose 100 pounds. I'm giving myself until the stroke of midnight (EST) January 1, 2010 to accomplish this.

To make it fun, I'm putting $1000 of my money on the line to anyone who wants to go pound for pound with me for the greatest lifestyle change.

That's $1000 cold, hard cash... not a gift card, not services or products... $1000 to do with whatever you want to do.
