http://www.numaga.com The weather was extremely bad hard wind and rain mucho respect for the pilot!!! on the second try he was drifting the airbus on the landing strip pretty amazing!
Chapeau au pilote !
By deltagolf 1231066610 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveEste un pilot foarte bun daca a reusit sa atrerizeze cu avionul in lateral.
By Baloigabi 1236849487 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveHATES OFF TO THIS CROSSWIND HERO WELL DONE in Landing that eagle...
Perfectly executed!
Colorado is famous for it! You really must be a gooed Pilot to land correctly in this Stuff
By Boomerony 1232051372 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethis is not 340 my friend
By @@LION@@ 1232011778 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveSimilar thing happend to me and my boss when we went to Sweden last year. It was on the small airport near Gothenburg. It was raining cats and dogs and the wind was blowing in all directions.

By danielpt94 1231630909 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveCommon or not I hope this pilot is being well paid to risk his life and the lives of his passengers like that. Anything small going wrong at that point and it could spell disaster. Well done pilots! Safe flying in the future.

By rohiryn 1231340899 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI am sure skilled pilot does that. but how about auto pilot?
By Kancil Killer 1231334577 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removebut that looked like a manual landing ... and anyway, most aircraft do not have an autoland facility and so that pilot must take over for the final approach and landing - about 30 seconds or so.
By PilotSteve 1231517493 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove... most civil aircrafts are equipped with an autoland facility, but it is commonly used in low visibility situations. The autopilot is very reliable to correct wind angles while flying enroute, but is definitely not (yet) certified for crosswind landings. The decision for a goaround cannot be taken by the autopilot and has to be taken by the pilot in command before reaching the decision height (DH), which is individual. If TOGA thrust is set for a go around there is a small time lag until the turbines accelerate. To dangereous to let this handle by an autopilot.

By roarinorrin 1231194342 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThere must have been some crazy cross wind that day for them to even be attemting to land at that angle.. :-) Great Show of skill

Estos pilotos tienen problemas de extravismo en la vista

By jaskim 83 1231116585 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveKinda confused. Why is the plane landing sidewards or is it just some stunt?
By lexas88 1231051646 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeit is called sidewind
By hoo kares 1231062205 Reply Spam [+2] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeit is called a "cross wind" and a "cross wind landing"..
the pilot needs to "crab" the aircraft to compensate for crosswind..
prior to touch down the aircraft is "straightened out" and the pilots inputs aileron control to slightly roll into the wind.
how often for this case to be happen ?
By NOS.LA 1231073324 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethe only time it DOESN'T happen is when the wind is coming straight down the runway (which is why there are different runways). This video was a more extreme example but it is a standard flying skill
By Jeff in Lodi Wi 1231384481 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeit happens everytime you have coming from the sides of the plane... it is why it is called cross wind landing! but that is the only case that they do it... which is actually very common special for that airliner that you just saw... it is from azores(portugal) those are some of the best pilots in the world... now imagine those kind of landings with ATP's and Dash-8 q400!! that´s skills!!
By aeroubi 1234582105 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove... questionable though, if it the second attempt was within the aircraft's crosswind limitation... every aircraft receives an individual certificate for crosswind limits by the authorities. However, it is always the PIC's (pilot in command) responsibility to decide.... if the local METAR shows that the aircraft wasn't certified he should have diverted to the filed alternate.... otherwise he will get interviewed... also after a successful landing... :-)..
By Jonathan Rex 1232205559 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removelanding. Very common
By Jeff in Lodi Wi 1231384506 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removewhich pilot lands this way??? S**t i ain't flying with this airline man, even if their pilot was "tom cruise in top gun"! cross-wind is NOT like dat man, tis too extreme. pilot is really crazy, that why we have all these accidents in the world...thinks its flight academy and think they can do it.This pilot is just lucky.. A slight miscalculation in windspeed we have a boom wi all passengers onbaord. Don't fly this airline ever. the pilot should be revoked of his license

By JonnyBadd1999 1234582380 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAirports runways most be build on measurement to the common diraction of the wind path.
but some times the wind changes to a different heading like cross the regular path.
and all kind of aircraft needs to take off or land against the wind direction & specially in landing
thats way pilots have to yow the aircraft to the diraction against the wind by the rudder, controlled by the padels at the pilot legs.
plane confrunt with strong side wind and pilots have to do some countermeasure against wind to keep plane at land line the result is as you see plane flyng sideward,it tas strong skill fr the pilots to do that
