Katana Vs Machine Gun

Whats wrong with guns?A coward can shoot a gun,but it takes an expert to aim it.

I agree with ShawnGlory, there is no respect in modern combat. I used to be an avid person for shooting guns but I have been training in sword for over a year and I like it better than shooting a gun!

i hate guns. for one reason. cowards now have the ability to kill without being noticed the existence of guns gave birth to cowards.
i am not saying our soldiers are cowards. i respect them for havin the courage to go onto the battlefield and risk their lives. that is undeniable
but the art of close combat which required alot of discipline and respect for the oponent is now somewhat non-existant and that itself is something i really hate to acknowledge.

Not correct my friend the Japanese also have had heavy armor. In a fight between a knight and a samurai I would put my bet on the guy with the katana !

I wonder how long a broadsword or a Claymore would last with that same material of that katana.

Japan swords are weaker than the european. :) They wore lighter armor there, and weapons were more made for slashing than cutting yes. ;)

Yeeaah they had that on Mythbusters, and the katana & longsword couldn't cut each other. They just flexed & recovered after going head to head.

katana still rules man.. bullets are nothing without gunpowder, got it? imagine u got bullets without gunpowder... the katana is still your best friend.

The actual gun does not matter numbnuts. The cartridge is what matters.

Why a traditional katana? Those things were very brittle and prone to bending, and not bending back.
Seriously, there is nothing special about the katana.
I would prefer the versatile longsword over a katana any day,
