Mythbusters Blow Up A Cement Truck

the first part of the explosion sounded like a fart.

I noted the strange sound the first time I saw that on Discovery. I believe it was the the initial pressure on the microphone, somewhat slowed by the limited speed of the sound processing equipment. You cannot normally hear it, because your ears and brain process the sound much faster than a microphone and a computer would. However, some people may have heard this strange initial hissing, but I don't think they'd lived to tell :))))))

that sound was the flying debris flying throught the air at a very fast speed kinda like what a richoche would sound like.

the myth of loosening up dried cement in a mixer to clean it with a variety of small sized charges. The mixer they destroyed had been given to them of course but when they filled it with cement they used to much, I think it filled roughly two thirds, so eventually even 1lb of explosive did not do a lot, just cracked off a little bit of dried cement. So in tradtional mythbusters fashion they had to go the whole 9 yards and so they took it to the quarry and loaded a shitload of explosives into the drum and ....there you go. Myth busted of course but they thought it was plausible that a mixer with just average dried on concrete would benefit from smaller charges. Hope that helps.

Great video, but I am not similiar with the myth that they are testing. If someone could post it, that wouldbe great.
