Missle Blowing Up A Tank

It is a javelin missle. American made. I used them in Iraq. The video is of a Russian made T-72 tank being destroyed. The missle is powerful but the tank is also fully loaded with fuel and tank ammunition. The missle detonated the tanks internal ordinance as well. Hence the nasty explosion. It is not swedish, nor robotic. We used this same video during our training with the javelin.

let me guess... you must be the foremost leading expert on the topic of ignorance. it's called a javelin missile. watch the video again. take note of the shape of the launcher, then pause the video on the second view of the missle hitting the tank; right when the missile comes into view. now compare it to this photograph:

now to disprove your comment further, it's not swedish in origin, nor robotic. it has a guidance system, which does not constitute "robotic". this guidance system only keeps the missile directed toward the intended target (fire & forget); to keep crosswinds, for example, from effecting it's path. for more information visit:

for the love of sanity, please do some research before you make comments like these. people are getting misinformed about military munitions all together thanks to comments from users like you.

have you ever listened to a group of people trying to sound intelligent speaking about something that they know nothing of? especially when you just happen to have a decent about of knowledge on the topic? has it ever made you think "what morons" ?? keep in mind that garbage like your post is the hand that feeds these "morons". ;)

why do ignorant people claim that these videos are fake without doing any research or having any prior military knowledge? it's the same tank... read my posting below (reply to "Hey antitank tech guy...") to find out what kind it was...

Tanks armour is weakest at the back and sides usually.. if that missile was being powered as it impacted it's possible it ponetrated, then detonated, you see something heavy land just to the right of the screen. Might be the turret?

As far as President Bush is concerned, maybe you should try to compare his sanity to the terrorist, then ask your self, is he really insane because he is trying to protect American lives and our way of life?

Not ours, HIS. He's protecting HIS way of life, and HIS buddies, not all of us. Alienating the entire world and starting a war which is driving young muslim men to sign up for terrorist groups in droves isn't exactly in the best interest of your average joe here in the USA. Afghanistan was great, we beat the living S**t out of some very bad people who were friends with the people who hit us. Then if we were going to pick someone else to fight with, we should have picked a known terrorist supporting regieme, like, say, Saudi Arabia, or Libya. bush isn't protecting the American way of life, he's projecting all of its worst tenets to the rest of the world.

it's impossible to shoot down this missile it moves to fast. the missle comes straight donw on the tank, where the armor is weakest.
