The clear plastic that shields the led panel is not broken... but i believe it was bent due to the impact of the wiimote; shattering the fragile led panel. I had the same thing happen to my PSP, but in this case it is much easier to bend due to small impacts seeing the surface is increased so many times more.

Haha, this couldnt happen to me. Got a panasonic plasma and the panasonic-people especially thought about those cases and build in a strong barrier of glas in front of the panel. The Wii-Mote wouldnt damage anything.
Your next TV should be one of these, cause your one is obviously busted :D

The wiimote has a wrist strap. That's the problem when not following the advice. And that's why I always stop my young cousins whenever they are messing with my Wii without the wrist strap on. Not to mention those little devils swing the wiimote as if they are swinging a light saber that may actually hurt the other restless and excited little devils around.
