    this man is my hero -this isn't the only sound he had on soprano... I love this transcription, and whenever playing this tune on a gig, I always play it on soprano and stick as close to his transcription as possible (from memory) in order to honor his spirit within the music
    I love the story about him being found early morning asleep in his hotel room sitting in a chair with his saxophone in his mouth. I have a portrait of him sitting in a chair with his tenor on his lap nursing his flute's key alignment -his level of dedication to the life of being what he was is my model for life.
