      I couldnt help but think of all the rip off's from his books. It's a large compilation of quite a few stories including LoTR mainly. But Christopher Paiolini definietly defined his own world and made it a more than worth while read. The books were great, bottom line, I couldnt put them down. I cant wait for the movies and also cant wait for the conclusion to the Trilogy to be written and released finally.

      It does take a lot off star wars. And LoTR. But it's the same way a great video game can be a complete Diablo clone and still be great. I'm not surpised that people use that style given how well it works. I read the books and couldnt put them down, even when I noticed the way it was a SW clone.

      that was a really good book and i think LOTR harry potter and starwars are all quite similar, SW just being a futury version, so i dont think eragon could have strayed too far and still been as fantasyish

    This looks more like Narnia actually which means alot of talking for a crappy movie.

      Well said. This movie isn't even in the same league as LOTR. Like you said, it belongs more in the Narnia class or maybe Dragonheart. The dragon looks like Falcor the luck dragon from The Neverending Story except without the fur. I was pretty disappointed.

    The next lord of the rings? I think not.. Ive never heard of this book.. (and im almost ashamed to say i read a lot of fantasy stuff - wheel of time - sword of truth etc..) Theres a new number one bestseller every week in countless different categories in countless different countries. To claim its a bestseller means very little. This film looks weak to me. like another dungeons and dragons film (which had the same actor in it) and basically as that other guy said suited for kids or people with an incredible lack of intelligence / imagination. But the cheesy American guy in the "voice over" tells us its going to be the best thing that will happen in our lives this year - whoopie! .....What a Prick!

    read the books. But from the looks of this movie, it seems like another Chronicles of Narnia...and by that I mean a childrens movie. Unless I'm told otherwise, I will continue to believe that this movie is not suited for ages 14
