Theatrical trailer for the first rock and roll film, ROCK AROUND THE CLOCK. This pioneering rock classic from indy producer Sam Katzman featured several legendary rock acts sprinkled in a paper thin plot about a promoter/agent who discovers rock and roll in small, rural community. Corny? Unbelieveable?? Right on both counts, but it was 1956 and we were all more naive...and a lot younger. Priceless footage of Bill Haley & the Comets, The Platters and Freddie Bell and the Bell Boys performing (...er, lyp-synching...) and lengendary dee-jay Alan Freed at the crest of their popularity is worth enduring the tedium of Robert E. Kent's tiresome screenplay. Lisa Gaye, Deborah Paget's real-life sister, ain't bad on the eyes, either.
