They have real jet engines and they cost like 10 grand!
I believe they are ducted fan engines - reciprocating piston engines driving fans at high speed to produce thrust. That's not a jet engine. And although expensive, nothing like ten grand.
Rick in Silverton aka ToxicShock
These are proper jet engines, though they used to cost 10 grand they can now be picked up for 3 - 5 grand. They are true jet engines, you can tell by the sound, ducted fans sound like a normal RC engine (piston sound). Pls don't say the sound is dubbed, it's not, jet engines are becoming quite common in the RC world.
You are quite correct - shows how out of touch I am with my model airplanes. That's quite incredible that they've managed to miniaturise a jet engine. Awesome.
The sound isn't dubbed! No need to get RC with me.
This is nice!!
where i can buy one of these and about how much?
hey guys it is a true marvel but i just want to know where are these kind of shows organised and another thing is where can we find these aircraft parts so that we can buy.....
that was really cool and i dont care wat kinda engine it is. thias things rock and in a dream land i would have one
It seems like these things can get away from you in a hurry!
Nice Landing, Capt!
an excellent landing .. not a slight bobble
the said it would never fly again
how wrong they were
good sound track also
That is the real sound of the jeg engines. These are expensive models. You have to have a lisense to fly ( legally) plus insurance. But that is true for most RC planes but it is more stricked with these because of the fuel, speed and distance of these models. Do a search for rc jets or anything of the sort and you will find alot of information. I have seen ( video) a rc model of a C-5 that is big as my car. About the size of two and a helf Mini's. And, that is with out the wing span. So, tack out a life insurance plan fake your death move to another country and you too can fly one.
what type of fuel does RC jets use?
so..so kewl..
What do they run on ? ><
or jet fuel, which is just about the same grade of fuel as kerosene
cos they are real jet engines. cost 3000 - 5000 us $ EACH

Really nice. I saw a similar clip of a scale model Airbus A380, the tailfin went up the the guy's hip. Damn big, also sounded like a real Airbus when doing a flyby. Cool!
Make me sick! This site will always draw derilect assholes. Spoils it for the people that appreciate this kind of stuff. If it's a duplicate, just rember there are probably a million people that are seeing it for the first time.
He is right on. As a long time pilot I love this but you always have to put up with the idiots that don't contribute a thing to society but what comes out of there rear end. Many or even some will see this for the first time and join up.
Honestly
I build and fly R/C planes and i know how much work and money this hobby requier.
AND why is it stupid???? becaus it's small??? it's not a toy, you can kill someone with one of those.
checking is not hard; just type in 'concorde' or whatever the most relevant part of the clip is.
//////////
very cool!
IT JUST AMAZES ME HOW THESE THINGS WORK. I'm very interested in how the engines work inside the jet.
i will use for bombing other jets for competition....
not just competin flightings
These little engines are amazing! I remember, in the UK, a talk show host called Chris Evans found out about these engines. He got the boffins that make them to demonstrate one in the studio, fastened to a board on table. The sound was incredible.
I wouldn't like to loose my R/C plane carrying a few grand worth of engines though.
All I canm say is that my dad used to make RC models back in the 40's and 50's , and even back then they were a real pocket full of money - but he loved it , and had 5 or 6 of them - I don't know what he would think if he were alive today to see these hugh jet palnes doing these dangerous flights . But I suppose he would be right out there getting involved with the rest of the guys - He loved it ... It's in your blood and you know the risk of crashing when you put on of these big ones to flight ....
.
So kewl.
