Is there anything that WD-40 and a lighter can't fix? If there exists such a thing, just torch it all with your mini flamethrower. Problem solved. repairing a wheel using gas and a lighter.

  • For those of you who didn't get it

Professional tire guys have the compressed air tank with the quick release to expand the tire & seal the bead, this is the old farm method of doing it, you get your can of ether, used to get your diesel engines (Tractor, graintruck, etc) & your lighter. your heating the air in the tire so it expands, pushing the bead (the edge of the tire that contacts the wheel rim) tight against the rim so the tire will seal, then you inflate the tire to the spec'd pressure.

  • !!!

works with a lil' gasoline as well, but don't forget only works on tubeless

  • OF COURSE IT WORKS!

wd40 would work just fine, or ether,or propane,or acetylene, or even (my personal favorite) aquanet hairspray. Just about any combustible aerosol or gas. they all work OK in a potato too.

  • Very cool..

only works on tubeless, very useful in emergency situation and don't forget to bring a CO2 tyre inflater.

  • no way

its not wd40 (wouldn't work) its starter fluid (ether), and its used only to seat the bead back on the wheel. it will not inflate your tire. you still have to use some form of air compressor to fill the tire back up once the beads back on. so unless someones got on board air then might as well not bother.

I knew that it worked but thats the first time that ive seen it....... cool but very dangerous!!!!!!

    By Trent1984 1234645630
  • Hardly WD-40

But ether works. Just don't try it in hot weather. and remember to quickly start to fill the tire with air, as the ignition of the ether only seats the bead.

  • I'm pretty sure its not WD-40

its probably ether, or starting fluid for diesel engine.
You can flame with WD-40, but I don't think it will pop like this...
And yes, this is an old, old farm trick, we use to put large tractor tires back on rim in the field.
Without something to pop the tire on, a tractor tire is too hard, you have to remove the wheel, and you can't do that in the field...

  • Yes! It works!

This method is known in Eastern Europe is already fifteen years. Must be used to start gas. After lighting tire soon to be supplemented by an air! Works excellent! The only accident has been the same igniter running away with his head hit the cargo trailer. :)

  • WAUU

¿pudiera ser que al echarle fuego, con parte del gas dentro del neumático, este desde dentro pida aire para su combustión y lo chupe hacia el interior del neumático?

    By edertanos 1232644691
    • Aviso...

Fue explosion de dentro que hace mas gas de repente! No hay chupa de aire en este prueba sino que no te recomiendo este modo de enflacionar la llanta!

      By mollyq 1232659189
  • Temporary only...

Did you notice that the tire deflate as soon as the other guys checking the inlet valve...!!??

    By nasilemakroticanai 1232565058
    • yes but,

the tire bead is now on the rim. It can now be inflated.
