The "Plattsburgh" knot is named after the small town in up-state New York where Thomas Fink, inventor of the knot and co-author of the book "The 85 ways to tie a tie", is born. In contrast to its narrow close relative the "St. Andrew", the "Plattsburgh" produces a symmetric knot characterized by a broad cone with a narrow opening.

    being female, didn't know there were so many variables to get the necktie done up. i recently joined the metacafe to help myself decompress due to serious family health issues ~ it has always been said that laughter is the best medicine. what gets me about this place is all the hate-mongering going on in here. some of u people need to get some anger management & get off your smear campaigns. coming in here day after day with a nasty attitude is just not healthy for any of u. i would sure hate to be one of your co-workers, i know i'd be too smart to be one of or ur wives or girlfriends.
