And...just you should know , that Steve Irwin never harmed any animal..you know that he spent his millions of dollars,that he made out of documentaries , to buy hundreds of acres of land on which he planted trees and transformed it not in zoo but a reservation, in which he brought helpless animals... would you do that for a better world? i'm sure not... go fetch your coffee and cigarettes and sit by your computer playing video games..

This happened in Mato Grosso do Sul state according to the flag on policeman's right shoulder.

Now, I don't believe in abusing animals, but this would have called for a bullet between the eyes for that snake. Granted the snake has the right to live on this earth, but so do we. They were trying to move it to a safer place for both of them. and of course the snake doesn't understand that, but it showed itself to be agressive. It's sad, but man DOES rule over animals.

That is the most frightening snake video I have ever seen! I handle snakes all the time, and haven't heard/seen anything like it. The largest snake I've handled is only a 10.5 foot albino Burmese python, but I will be MUCH more carefull, now..

I wear a leather welders jacket and leather gloves when I handle large constrictors. I have a Retic and I'm extremely careful when I handle it which is very rare. Retic's are 2nd to none and a force not to be challenged if they get an attitude. Mine has never shown an attitude. Treat them with respect and Learn To Read a Constrictor if you want to live in harmony with them. It is easy to understand them if you know what you're looking for.

I have been bitten by much smaller carpet snakes, it bloody hurts.
I'm very impressed that the guy was so casual about his injury. Hopefully the bite doesn't get infected.

any 1 know why they wouldnt use something like tazers to transport animals like this so these kinds of things dont happen. i hate snakes and my instict would be to pull out a gun and shoot it if it had my hand but a tazer would be usefull in every police force.

A) you shouldn't let regular police handle that kind of animal--only qulaified animal workers with the right kind of equipment
B) wound-to-wound contact is a huge no-no--a perfect way of spreading contaminated body fluids INCLUDING whatever that snake had--and they're lucky it wasn't fatally poisonous.
C) steve is a hero and that was a bad way to go. RIP, steve.
