Fast Snowmobile

It looks really good but any ordinary stock snowmobile can do that... 80km/h is enough if you are going to drive less than 100m. When racing or going longer distances obviously you need more speed.

i have actually done the exact same thing in the exact same spot,....its old forge upstate NY . The cross-country skiers love to watch

I do this all the time, you dont have to be going fast, I go slow till the skis are in the water then I hammer down. Scary sometimes tho the front end comes olmost straight up.....2006 M7

on ripleys believe it or not i guy traveled 1mile i think on water and also turned around on the water

They do it every year in Michigan-some don't make it and sink, no damage done

A man died when he drown after he tried this in New Hampshire this last weekend!

Here in Colorado they have races on Georgetown Resivoir. The races consist of 4X4s, 2X4s cars and trucks both. In one of the races the vehicles use hiway tires and just spin around.. then when the lake starts to melt in the spring they have the snowmobile races.

It does happen in Canada, often! But, you have to be careful were you are. We can't do this at our cottage (on Lake Huron) because the other end is not miles into Michigan. I know people that would want to try this!

This happens all the time, they even have races on water.

I watched a mini documentary about the lake races they have with those things in the middle of summer. That's right the start on land and go racing around on a lake. If they slow down too much at ANY time, their snow-mobile immediately sinks and they have to swim for shore. It is an organized event but obviously lots of people "practice" or just try it to be daring. Dangerous sport if you aren't seasoned at it.

whats the speed of the snowmobile anyway?

I knew a guy that I worked with who died doing this. It didn't help that he was drinking.
