  • Wrong Pilot!

    NIce overdubbing of the original 1996 Hong Kong TV footage, but actually Barry Collier wasn't the Captain of the rescue helicopter pulling the people off the roof, I was! A rather typical example of erroneous overdubbing of the event! Barry was actually behind me in another Blackhawk and had to talk me into and away from ther rooftop due to the thick smoke - effectively 'backing-me out' of my position over the roof and down the roadway between the buildings, after the winch rescue of the guys on the roof had been completed. It was somewhat smoky! The original US TV Documentary (Dateline) is far better and much more accurate than this much-edited version.Thanks for letting me put the record straight!

  • It's a tragedy!

    I still have this incident in my mind... This is really a tragedy, a nightmare and was really shocking in Hong Kong because it really occurred downtown (just beside the busiest street)... Everybody was sad about this, especially sad about those innocent died there. However, really thank our firemen to rescue as many as they could. Thanks very much!

    In my memory, that fire was on 1995 and the office building was in down town. The Video seems to be a TV news. I would like to tell u a lot of people had dead in the fire, one of them just die in front of the window and burn to be a dark charcoal. That Fire made many HK people very sad....
