It's missle test footage so it is staged, However I seriously doubt the explosion is. You wont learn anything from a test if you rig the results after all. The explosion is just being enhanced by the surrounding dust and possibly the internal magazine of the tank.

More specifically, it looks like this was a Tube-launched, Optically tracked, Wire-guided missile (a.k.a. TOW missle). They are generally used by gunships and, as in this case, Humvees, and are designed to penetrate tank armor.

Sherman tanks during ww2 were like candle lights when hit by german shells in
Africa and Normandy. Most crews never made it out in time and burned inside.
That was beacuse the fuel tanks ignited ofcourse. Destroyed allied tanks were recovered & repaired and sent back into action. But they were very disliked by the new crews since since the smell of burned flesh could not be removed!

Today we are practice same warfare with same tanks. Ofcourse with modern tech tanks. Nazi Germany created Blitzkrieg (modern warfare) and the allies perfected It and develop it still today. Look at Iraqi Campaing. Difference is that we do not pulverize cities like back then. Compare Dresden, London and Warsaw in ww2 against Fallujah today.
