I agree totally with you here. What he is talking about is the essence of all religions or beleiefs. Clinging to beliefs and dogmas as well as trying to juggle all this in your head just keeps you straining mentally which is a state of "non-peace" without really getting you to passed signposts.Basically it rests on knowledge, which can change or be altered with time. What they are talking about remains timeless. What Jesus said and other prophets or what ever you'd like to call them really turn back to the same directions.Many similar preachings if I can say, refer to the same direction. Arguing and fighting about intellectual differences and opinions about what so and so said here and there, is just keeping us away from what all these great speakers really wanted to point out to us.

The message of the cross is nonsense to those who are being destroyed,but it is God power to us who are being saved.The "power of now" is not from Oprah and Eckhart Tolle,but from God.The power is the cross and "now" is the word that the church emphasizes on it:The Holy past is present "now" with power.Let Oprah if she dare,to speak on TV about the true "power of now" of the cross in the book the coin of the temple.

Let me ask you a question for the sake of argument.

What would be so horrible with the idea of a, "One World Religion?"

I, (as well as Tolle - if I may be so bold to speak for him) would prefer to call it a, "One World Truth, Belief or Spiritual Movement," rather than a Religion. The word Religion con notates separation. Tolle's idea encompasses all that is good and true in all the religions of the world , and does not exclude anyone. This idea includes all human beings. What he sees as the common root or theme of all of man's religions, is true Love and acceptance, itself. Man (who is flawed) is the one who has distorted this central theme of all religions over the course of history to gain his own ego-driven purpose(s). It seems to me that if you look at history closely, Eckhart Tolle is quite accurate in his assertions that the religions of the world, and not the central message in which all religions have in common, are the result of the man made ego unconsciousness. They produce more evil and destruction in the world in the name of a secular God (A, my God is better than your God mentality) than they actually do good in the world. When you seek to separate your beliefs from others, rather than bring them together in understanding, you yourself go against the very thing you claim to believe in, which is the One and Only True God, from Scripture - or the label you have put upon yourself of being a true Christian. There is nothing that Eckhart Tolle has ever said that goes against the true essence or understanding of what Christianity, (or any other Religion for that matter) is attempting to convey. I myself, am a Christian. I suggest that you first read and understand what Eckhart Tolle actually says, before you judge his beliefs. Christians can learn much from him. This is what Jesus Christ himself would say and do.
