  • alright, that's enough.

This report, besides being inaccurate, is not helping people. I used to hack wireless just for fun, and anyone with the right skills can break any WEP/WPA key inside of five minutes (10 if they are newbies). If you are worried about this type of activity, most routers have mac address filtering options. Set them to only allow the addresses that are listed. This will cause the router to ignore all other wireless devices. Passkeys should also be used as a second line, but other then that they are useless.

  • Security Cameras can be *secure*

Not all wireless security solutions are this open. I've checked out and then ordered from FrontPoint Security and their security cameras are much "stronger" than this example.

Yes, almost anything can get hacked, but their are solutions out there that are at least as secure as your encrypted wireless network. Just takes a little more homework to find them.

  • pathetic, again

Protecting themselves from the internet. Lol... If you want to protect from the Internet, do not connect. And leave us without these crapy video.
By the way, this is not hacking. Of course it is illegal. This is piracy but not hacking. If you enter a house that was not closed, you are a buggler. You did not use any knowledge and you did not even have to think about it. The real difference between piracy and hacking (using something already discovered, or not even using anything against solving problem or using a system that was not designed to work this way).

I like to thank you all those guys who add their comment on this video.First, it gives us social awareness that we are not alone in this planet. There is nothing to be afraid of if you are doing the right things, unless otherwise you're trying to steal your company's income. Anyway keep up the good work especially to the METACARE for giving us chance to view the world right infront of our computer.

  • They didnt say how because..

If they did then more people would do it and they would be adding to the problem.
Its really easy anyway..just pull up infromt of houses in nice nieghborhoods and wait to see which unsecured networks appear on your laptop. It happens by accident all the time.

  • Easily resolved...

There have been many news reports on hacking unsecured home wireless networks. All one has to do is enable the encrytion on the router, some of the newest models even have 256 bit encryption algorithms, that is more then enough to cause most potential hackers to move on, especially if you choose a more difficult password. Of course, cabling eliminates this nuisance all together, just make certain you turn off the wireless on your router or you may still be broadcasting (depending on the model).

Of course, for Americans, all emails and faxes and telephone conversations are intercepted by the goverment anyways, so I suppose privacy is a moot point.

Every router I have ever installed has had lots of information on enabling encryption, although I do not feel some of it would be easily understood by a novice or non-techy type person. But that is what the Help lines are for!

  • well

even if they were to provide detailed step by step instructions on how to protect yourself, 90 percent of people on unsecure networks still wont be able to fix it themselves. Wireless routers or APs should really provide huge warnings so dumb people can protect themselves. And even then, with keys written, macs limited, SSID silent, an experienced hacker can still get past all that. Best is to stick to CAT5.

  • Nothing in there...

They don't say how to do it, nor how to protect from it. Very bad news report again.
