    Don't store the mix: it can self ignite if contaminated; store perchlorate well away from any flammable material: perchlorate is a strong oxidiser and thus it can turn otherwise inert materials such as flour, sugar, grease or coffee into very flammable hazards.

    potassium nitrate (a substitute for potassium perchlorate) can be found in stump remover and aluminum powder can be found in paint stores or it can be made with foil, a rock tumbler and steel balls

    I have exactly 400 mesh alluminium (not more, not less), so it won't be a problem, right ?

    And can I use KNO3 and S instead of KClO4 ? I know it will be weaker, but will it work fine enough ? I heard that using nitrates are safer.

      5g kno3, 3g dark pyro al, look for it on ebay, 2g sulfur, it will not be quite as fast, just barley slower, but it is very safe and can be stored

    i have made flash powder for many times. even with a 12 year old girl can make those powder!. everyone wanna make your own flash powder? just buy the regular fire crackers and crack open it then collect all it powder in it. 3 stick woould be enough. then find a tissue wrap not too thight then put a fuse in it. then it will be like a mini flash bang.
