    Snake can open their mouth that wide, since their lower and upper jaws are joint together by highly moblie muscles. This allow them to swallow large preys; some had even claimed to seen a young hippo inside a Anaconda (yes-it's the largest snake in the world). But all snake only need a very small diet to survive in a very long time (a rat could mean >3 months, and ... a hippo :)) decades may be). They are july astonishing creatures, thanks for the vid ....make me love egg again!!!

    DANG!! I always heard that snakes liked to eat eggs, but this was my first time seeing a snake try to devour one.... good gawd, i thought that it meant the snakes took their venomous fangs and bit into the eggs & ate the contents instead of doing what this snake did. this fits the term "biting off more than u can chew" perfectly!!! then u get to watch his expression in his eyes as he realizes he's not gonna make it, & so he has to regurgitate it. amazing video!!!
