That was Lyndon Barton Crashing his Metro 6R4 cumin ova Steps on Eypnt Ranges (South Wales) the bottom link bar broke on the car he escpaed un-injuried howeva his co-driver had 2 be taken 2 hospital wid back injurys i think having a accident like that in a road car wud of killed you but the roll cage in that rally saved him nd his co drivers life. Just shows how safe these cars really are.

poor driver? he has a roll cage, poor pedestrians! if you pause at the right moment you can see a guy in a black coat just standing there while the car rolls within a few feet and then you see the camera guy on the ground tens of feet from it lol..

... lucky no one was killed (i'm sure driver was ok)

  the skill of many drivers. There are just some unfortunate accidents. These guys know what they are doing. Its the other unskilled hooligans on our roads that try to do the same thing & usually end up killing not only themselves but some poor other driver that just got in the way.

  It's because rally driving really shows off the skill of the drivers. Driving a car at 40mph in the mud around a turn that under DRY conditions most people would take at 5mph, and not losing control, shows a true mastery of the art of driving. Yes, sometimes people get hurt or killed, but that doesn't stop people from skydiving or bungee jumping either, and with respect to those sports, those don't involve quite as much skill as rallying does.
  
  Also, one could compare it to olympic atheletes, who showcase the pinacle of human physical acheivment, even though many times they can end up severely injuring themselves when they push themselves just a little bit too far. But part of the thrill of any competition is knowing that a hairsbreadth from victory is death, that if you cross that fine line at the peak of your abilities, you will suffer horrible consequences. You do your best to prepare, to be as safe as possible, but that doesn't eliminate the threat, nor should it, for if there is no danger, there is no excitement, no rush to be sought.
