3)Who's saying the "bad guys" here couldn't shoot at all, and are incompetent ones like a hollywood movie? These marines were saying that rounds were landing right next to their heads! That's not bad at 300 meters, and could simply be the result of wind movement of the round while in flight. If the "bad guy's" scope (assuming he even had one) wasn't set to the correct windage, or if the wind was gusting, he could easily waste multiple shots trying to hit some Marines who were BEHIND COVER (makes me think he was actually shooting through the wall protecting the Marines, trying to get them with luck).

Snipers don't relocate after every shot. If they did that, they would spend most of their time relocating (rather than shooting). Most people know that snipers best aid is concealment, not relocation. However, most Metacafe folks seem to be kids that act like they know everything, including warfare. There was another one featured in Shootouts where the sniper was in a tall building overlooking a cemetery, and the trapped marines noticed that the sniper moved from room to room after every shot. They had to call in a tank to shoot every room until there were none for the sniper to hide it.

And you are forgetting the tactical objective of a sniper, to pin the enemy until reinforcements arrive to take out the pinned troops. The person is probably pumping with adrenaline, and maybe doesn't realize it when he's lost, or he may be extremely motivated to stay in the spot shooting at the soldiers even if there are no reinforcements. These aren't robots; each and everyone has a unique situation.

I haven't lived under Saddam, but I could safely say that Iraq (which you can't spell, it's 4 letters) is better off without Saddam. Saddam in a single day killed over 300,000. It took about 3 years to kill twice that amount for us. Thus we are killing less than Saddam was.

but the navy SEALS are the most elite soldiers soldiers anywhere in the world. they go in and do the low profile dirty work that normal soldiers cant. theyre the best trained badasses in military history. they fight on land sea and air.

Frankly, war is the job of the soldier, not the civilian. I think it is entirely inappropriate to show combat footage to the average citizen. By doing so, you invite everyone who sees it to automatically "know what happened, and how things are." It's supposed to be the soldiers reminding the citizens that war is horrible, and should only be used under extreme circumstances, not soldiers reminding civilians why they fight, and what freedom is and who deserves it.

I think most people you would talk to would be of the opinion they are against the war, but for the troops. The war in Iraq was justified by a pack of lies, its an illegal war. Those troops believed they were doing something for their country, when they were really fighting for corporate interests (a lot of money in war I'm sure you realise). We have all been deceived. Dont you think our marines would know what a sniper is? Its a broad term used to identify a marksman using a semi-automatic weapon with a high powered scope.

The actual term sniper came from the British. They hunt a bird called a snipe. Its a particularly difficult bird to hit in mid air due to its irratic flying patters and size. So those that could shoot one were defined as quite a marksman, therefor earning the title of a "sniper".

I believe the correct term would be a single rifleman had them pinned down. If he was a trained SNIPER at least 2 out of 3 would be DEAD right now. ENEMY AT THE GATE style !

they haven't. george tenet resigned because of that. you know who that is? he is the guy who told bush in 2003, it was "slam dunk" of evidence for WMD's in iraq. we went after the wrong people dude. just come to that realization. aghanistan was the right move. the world understood that. they knew that we got attacked, bin laden planned and supplied it, and he was given a safe haven in afghanistan. we went there, and got bored, and bush got ancy. simple as that. he didn't like saddamm, and decided to go in. dick cheney was asked in 1991, when he was sec. of defense, whether we should go to baghdad then, with our military inside iraq and he said, "go into iraq? that would be crazy!!" so, yeah, it was a mistake, and now 600,000 iraqis and 3,000 americans are dead for what? for some WMD's that weren't there? haven't been there since the 1980s? those phantom WMD's that saddam didn't have the capablilty to deliver to the US? no man, we were wrong. now we are in a quagmire of tribal warfare that has been going on for 4,000 years. yeah, those guys have been fighting for that long.

They found a little over 500 last June (or was it May). That's 500, count em, Chemical weapons, which are one of the 5 types of WMDs. Check it out, it wasn't proclaimed very loud, but then again what news organization would tell the entire country that they were wrong and pig-headed these days. Seriously, I am not making this up, CNN ran a rather brief line about it last June. "500+ chemical weapons found in Iraq."
