Anyone that says that car is a Honda is utterly wrong. It is a R33 Nissan Skyline with an RB26DETT, and not it's not a VTECH. It's a twin turbo 2.6L. They were never produced for the US, either.

The skyline didnt do bad when the prices of the cars are compared, but you could spend less than 20k on the skyline to see that take the line first.
There are supras and skylines out there doing sub 9 second ss 1/4 mile runs compared to around 9 and a half second runs for the best mclaren times I have seen.

The skyline nissan engine would need an excess of 200 000 dollars of parts to complament before the car can compare to the mc laren. Understand that just because there are cheep parts for low end exotic cars don't mean that they are compatible with supercars and the skyline is pretty close to being a super car; but more than extensive work would need to be done. However if the mc laren wasn't a hand molded carbon fiber body i would so agree that it is overly priced!

of course, that is a nissan skyline r33 with an I6 engine and a displacement of about 2.6l.
there are at least 3 points that shows that this is NOT a f*****g civic:
1. This should be a race between 2 road-legal and stock cars, oterwise you can't imagine how quick the McLaren F1 is, and if a civic would be that fast like the skyline, it wouldn't be stock, for sure.
2. the sound; it's nearly impossible that an I4 engine (for example in the civic) sounds that great like the I6 from a skyline (OK, most of the time you hear the 6l V12 from the McLaren, but at the end the skyline passes by and you can hear it well).
3. the drivetrain; a civic has FWD, as much as i know, and a car with FWD is very much slower in the acceleration as one with AWD (for example the skyline) provided that they have approximate the same power.
it was totally funny, but at the same time, in some way questionable to read a few comments like: it's a civic with "amazing bodywork done"... or similar (i mean not you, "At Work Doin Nothing" naturally you mean it as a joke, but there were some other guys)
That's it, now i just want to say: PLEASE LEARN SOMETHING ABOUT JUST THE MOST FAMOUS CARS IN THE WORLD, before you write a comment to that topic...

The GT-R Skyline has a RB26DETT. RB is the name of the block, 26 stands for 2.6 liters, D is for DOHC (Double Over Head Cams), E is for Electronic injection and TT is for Twin-Turbo. For example, the Silvia S15, and later the '67 Ford Mustang Fastback in FNF3 has a RB26DET engine in them. (Taken from a Skyline GT-R and coupled to a 5-speed Skyline transmission so it can drift.) One T because of one turbo.

Yea that civic was tuned up for the race. I don't think a stock civic could take the McLaren F1 out of the hole that easy as you can see in the video though the caster of this interview never said it was a stock civic in the first place. He had just said a "fast car".

I am a certified mechanic, and i am so far into racing you wouldn't belive it. The silver is a Nissan skyline R33 GTR w/ RB26DETt, factory states around 260 hp because you couldn't produce a car above that hp in the earlier ninties. the car actually pushes about 320 and is fast. The black is a McLaren F1 and if you don't know the specs, you don't care about cars and shouldn't be watching this video seeing as it held the street legal production car speed record for years. here in lies the problem, F1s are for track times and skylines are for drag drift or track, a nissan of all trades if you will. and no the F1 driver doesn't S**k , because its built for high hp and has lower torque for higher top speeds. the skyline jumps off the line quick but loses because of its rev limiter and no, it would only take about 700 hp to take the line against the F1 in 1/4 mile. Finally whoever called the skyline a civic should be beaten to death with metric wrenches by angry teen teck-school kids. peace.

remember, they said "is it difference between a really fast car and an mclaren" Skyline is the fastest street racing car in the world and can have 800 h/p (horse power). Honda civic is a family car with small engine with 90 h/p, you can sure trade the engine with another one, but its not enough space for honda civic to change it to a skyline engine. a honda civic will get up to 256-300 h/p...thats final.

destroy the f1, just remember that it weighs about as much as a wet tea bag. So even a skyline with 1000bhp plus wouldn't get close.
Oh. they also do a tuned race version of the f1 called the GTR, of which several were made road legal. This makes the standard f1 look slow.
