    ok. so what's the recipe ratio between the corn starch and water? I want to do this with my science class. Any suggestions on hooking up a speaker? Kind of music that gets the best effects (I have 8th graders so I have some pretty horrible music at my disposal ;^)

      Solidifies when put under sharp pressure. If you could get the right material, a non-newtonian fluid could produce an excellent soft body armor. Also, quicksand is another non-newtonian fluid; if you're stuck in it and you thrash around, it just gets tighter.
