What is death? Death is a process that has received much attention over generations. Unfortunately, the Biblical definition of death seems to have been forgotten and misinterpreted. Death is a sleep. It is not something where we will immediately be resurrected, or where our souls will simply go to heaven - as the Bible does not support this. Christ has promised the resurrection of His saints in His Second Coming. This is not to say that there are not already saints in heaven, as some have already been translated to serve a purpose. But for all who die, the Second Coming will be their awakening, and death is a sleep. What about the ghost sightings and experiences people have had over the years? Well, we must remember that Satan loves people to stray away from Biblical understanding - and apparitions are not new to his deceptions (i.e. 1 Samuel 28.) We must tread carefully when it concerns the dead - as Satan loves for men to attempt to make contact and open the door for evil to come through.
