  • Good Stuff

See, this is old school. Bruce Lee didn't need a bunch of Wo Ping wires and Matrix technology to show his stuff. His choreography, martial arts and stunts were more authentic than anything that you will see today. He was truly the greatest.

    • you are absolutely right

  • R.I.P.

Bruce Lee is simply the best Martial Artist that ever lived, an interview with Jackie Chan, he said he was an extra in one of Bruce Lee's movies first starting out, and he got kicked in the face, of course Bruce Lee was apologetic, but Jackie Chan said it was the happiest day of his life, and he said, that's definitely what I wanna do.

Aside from his influence, the Jeet Kune Do style creating your own style of philosophy/martial arts, some of us only dream to accomplish so much in our life.

    Bruce Lee R.I.P.

  • in fist of fury

they are all judo or something like that and judo would never beat wing chu kung fu

    By karate black belt 1159203070
    • Bruce Lee Was Only as Good as his style,...

who ever said that all the fighters in the Film Fist of Fury were all judo has no idea about Martial arts, They were actually all different forms of Karate.

      By Dj Disciple 1169738892
    • what style?

he didn't have a style, remember

      By speedy34 1178249507
    • you know man,

it's not the style, it's about the person, and how good fighter you are. and both wing chun's and judo's teachings are quite restricted. and bytheway wing chun is not too effective, it's more better as an 'art' better than self-defence. but what they teach you in jujitsu, for example, that s**t really works.

    • kajukenbo

I have studied kajukenbo and borrowed heavily from wingchun and mui thai/ wushu incorporated in it all together ... A complete fighter must adapt to the situation not just one on one combat. Jujisu is good but in the hard streets of oakland ,california. You dont want to take a man to the ground because you dont know what type of weapon he has on him. Even the greatest man in the world Hois Gracie said "the man in the ring isnt the man he fear it is the man in the street..." my sifu was Doug Jones and Sifu bill owens these guys taught "street skills" all those thing that they teach in wushu/ kungfu can be applied in the street. The chinese wip chain skill can be transposed over to using your belt buckle to fight with it you are dealing with multiple opponents being able to a belt buckle well might make your assailant think twice...... Wushu and kungfu are arts that was use in war during the ming dynasty and during the time of the shaolin temple if you couldnt get out of the way of a sword or spear you was dead.... You cant use boxing concepts or jiuju concepts if a person has a cain or peice of conduit several inch long on the mean streets of oakland You might have to run .. you can allway find a peice of pipe or conduit to use that to fend off you assailent these day people dont fight empty handed so learnning to use all available things around you as a weapon is paramount..via boxing, jujuisu( grappling) wushu(weapons) and kungfu( flow fighting)and kali( stick and knife techniques) and capoeria ( fighting with just your feet) . Bruce lee said " you have to have to be like water in fits in to any container... Jujisu dont offer all of that it is one part of the nucleus.Go to google and read about bill owens and doug jones.

    • very insightful comment!

well, in hokutoryu jujitsu they teach kicks, punches, strikes, and not just grappling. it is very streetwise system. though I agree with you, one must know how to defend himself in every situation, meaning if there are attackers more than one, or attackers with different weapons, knives, sticks, pipes, rocks etc.. on 1 vs 1 i think that grappling saves the day. when confronted by multiple 'enemies', dirty tricks like kicking to the groin and finger jabs or me-uchi to the eyes. and a constant movement; if a guy can't reach you, he can't hit you. when there are three or even two assailants, you must not get on ground, or you get your ass handed to you.

      By Maruuna 1167399762
    • it is true

      you are right

      By Iagree 1168219923
    • your very wrong

The art of fighting without fighting was dirived from bruces child hood, he grew on the streets learning how to fight, you see growing up where bruce did they had competitions on roof tops, so to say that you cant usethis stuff on the street is absouloute rubbish i am an accomplished martial artist and have used many forms during street fights and even fights with police, so im sorry to say you need to branch out on your style and stop relying on what sifu said.

      By Dj Disciple 1169739554
    • what about wu shu

the kung fu art of wu shu is more acrobatic with more kicks but still has all the great hand to hand combat skills of wing chun

      By fasdf 1160612382
    • Wait...

Actually, in developing his own style (Wing Chun), Bruce Lee used elements from many martial arts forms, including Judo.

      By Guess Who Magoo 1160522914
    • wing chun?

Bruce Lee's style was actually Jeet Kune Do, which was really a philosophy. He used a multitude of martial arts, ranging from Wing chun, through Karate, to Ju Jitsu and even Escrima and Aikedo. There will never be another like him.
