- Correction
No, he didn't loose his legs in that crash. This crash happened in 1993 when he was in Formula 1, driving for the Lotus team. He suffered several injuries but the accident where he lost both legs took place in 2001 in Lausitzring, Germany. At that time he was racing in CART championship for the Chip Ganassi team. After rehabilitation and with prosthetic limbs, he was back behind the wheel in 2004. Great man.
