that flare came from under the ram air intake, engines dont blow like that. that was a backfire through the intake, probably as a result of tweaking the computer in the car, causing it to run to rich. that accompanied with the spark advance at the higher rpms caused it to hiccup. coulda cracked the pistons but only as a result of the backfire

Im 100% sure that its a backfire from the intake as a result of the nitrous... but its lucky that he didn't blow the intake ...since the ls1's have a harden plastic intakes they will easly blow if the shot of nitrous is large but thats normaly only at an rpm under 2500... and for the person who said shitty motor and brand or what ever you said ... i have a 1999 trans am ls1 with , 3.73 gear in an eaton posi unit, flowmaster exhaust, ram air, tuned and other small mods and its running into the 12's ... lets see you do that to some 4 banger or mustang..

Dumbasses. Look closely at the nitrous solenoids hooked up. What happened here is when nitrous fires back through the intake. Something that can happen. At least with the LS1, it didn't blow the intake manifold completely off unlike I've seen on a few 4.6 Mustang motors...
