    That trailer is what all Kombat fans have ever wanted to see,all the characters in 1 bloody,brawling movie.Aslong as the game play is good and the graphics are awesome the game will be the best yet,and with every character ever made in just 1 game...ever better!

    And reference to Atari..........get a life outside of computers and quit leaving annoying komments about a franchise u don't even like.Go back to your Thesaurus and Dictionary where ur little words came from and continue on hoping that Street Fighter and Co. will ever be better than Kombat.

    the mid-air combat that was demonstrated by kung lou and baraka is no where near that lengthy OR matrix-like. quan chi can NOT summon skeletons during kombat. liu kang can't you the chains in combat. and yes, that huge volcano-monster at the end DOES become a playable character, and an uber one at that.

    Who's better; Sub-zero or Scorpion? Well, theyre fighting at the beginning and right at the end of the trailer when Shang Tsung has the chains on his shoulders you can see Shinnok and Scorpion running up the stairs in the background.

    This tells me Scorps won.

    Scorpion > Sub-zero playa

    Personally i have only liked the series because of Scorpion and Reptile. Im not to interested in this one as of yet. My fave fighting games rank like this:
    1.Bloody Roar Series.
    2.Dead or Alive series
    3. Killer Instinct Gold on nin64
    Im sure you guys hate these games i listed. Ijust think theyre going to be better than this one.

    If there was ever a way to end Mortal Kombat forever, it's with an end-all apocalyptic showdown of everyone against each other.

    Been a fan since the beginning, and I'll agree that while Deception was a decent game it pales in comparison to legends like MK2. But between the gameplay previews seen and this cinematic, looks like Boon is going out with a bang.

      Why does everyone seem to base a game off of the fact that it is old?

      The Mortal Kombat fighting engine always sucked. It had terrible combat, but it was fun to do the moves and see the fatalities. (which is REALLY what made the game popular in the first place; the fatalities)

      The newer ones had better graphics, and probably a better fighting system. (since you can't get much worse than MK2 or below)

      Assume that because someone likes an earlier version of a franchise entry it's only because of its age?

      MK's fighting engine was no different than any other 2D fighter out there, it was the fact the game pulled no punches in testing the waters of Mature gaming. And in a sense, it secured its legacy in doing this as being solely responsible for the creation of the ESRB.

      Of course the newer games had better graphics, but that doesn't necessarily make them better games. The fact you say "probably" indicates ignorance in even having a ground to support your justification that because it's newer, it's clearly better. By this logic, Sonic Riders should be sitting on the golden pedestal the original Sonic the Hedgehog sits.

      If you're going to form an arguement, at least try and play these things to back it up. "What ever" only cemented the youthfulness of this response.

      Why do they come back at me with a counter arguement that is well-written and seemingly intelligent, but in reality it has nothing to do with what I originally said?

      My point was that you can't like something, merely because it was the first of its kind.
      You can like it because it was good, but seeing as 80% of all people do things because everyone else is doing it, I believe I have a pretty solid foundation for my statement. (which means that the reason people like the old one is because it happens to be 'kewl' to like the original, for no better reason than that it is just that: the original)

      I've played old Mortal Kombats and newer (not NEW, per-say, but newER), and suffice it to say that the fighting system of all of them were pretty shallow.

      And this being so, it would make more sense to like the new ones better, because about all the game had going for it was the graphics. (in both sense of the word: graphic violence, and graphics as in, how well they portray it, as in, the technology to do so)

      And 'what ever' was more of a, 'If you disagree, I don't care to defend myself because I don't care enough to learn more about it'.
      Just in case someone responded with something better than, "I don't like what you said."

      Hmh.

    they have actually become really good at making good action sequences in their cinematics but i dont think someone should be so easily swayed by such a nice cg animation video to go and buy the game... wait for the gameplay at least.. anyways the generation of MK has been pretty good so far so hopefully this isnt the one that drops the balls and screws things up
