yes it does.. nightvision goggles or video picks up the rays of light that are below the vision of the human eye's spectrum, and then translates them into a form that we can see. The night vision camera has an infrared light that it shines that you can not see with the human eye.

This is part of a show here on a french network in Quebec called "Juste Pour Rire: Les Gags" (or "Just For Laughs: The Jokes)... I'm kinda surprised it got on the net lol. Why is everyone hell bent on saying it's infared. Inrared camera will see heat signatures. Never a clear image of the room. A UV light on in the room can be picked up by a camera like they use on the show Big Brother.

Night Vision goggles and "Heat Vision" cameras both use infrared. But the difference is the wavelength. Near and Far infrared. Far is "heat vision". The clip is real, using a near infrared camcorder and maybe an infrared illuminator to get better picture quality. The room had to be pitch black for this who skit to work. Also if you notice the main body of the ape suit is made of a different material that shows up white in the infrared spectrum

Actually he isn't wearing white pants, what you see as white in night vision is infrared light but coz ppl can't see infrared the cam is transforming the infrared signal to white (or green whatever) so we can see it. When you see something white in reality it doesn't mean it has infrared dye too.

The infrared does make some things look lighter than other, although they are the same color under the daylight. I noticed that when filming with my cam. Why? Don't know, I ain't an expert for these things, I guess it's got something to do with the material.
