Louis Theroux is a genius. Fact. In weird weekends, Louis would take up a particular topic on every episode to find the craziest people on the topic he is investigating.
Here, in the UFO episode, is a man who claims that he can contact extra-terrestrial beings through his mind. Absolutely fantastic stuff.

Enjoy

Louis Theroux's Weird Weekends: "Korton"

  • Ignorant little wimp

Right from the start he makes a big thing out of just ringing the doorbell. What amateur dramatic S**t is this for openers? Then like all the people he visits he mocks them with sarcasm showing little to no respect for their ideas or way of life. LT is an ignorant little wimp boy that thinks it's cool to mock people. The audience should wake up to that. Far enough there are a few wierdos out there but what a sad small minded person you have to be to not only make a show about them but repeatedly demonstrate that you have no respect for them with your persistant attempts to put each and everyone of them in a bad light.
And what's with all the waaa waaa waaa little english boy "I'm afraid" and "I can't" and "I don't want to". LT is a miserable little sack of sh1t and should leave the good hearted people he meets well alone.

    • Well it depends...

I understand what you are saying, but i question these 'good hearted' people and their intentions. If people honestly believe that this man can contact 'Korton' and is an ambassidor to the world then fine, Louis Theroux is a fool and should not be exploiting him. But if, like the majority of the people, you believe that this man is lying out of his teeth for either recognition or some other motivation (because there must be one if he is lying) then Louis has every right to mock him. After all, if this man is lying, then he is trying to mock everybody else. If Louis was mocking people with no motivation for their actions then you would have a point. But unfortunately, this man has a motivation and should be exposed and ridiculed as should any other person who talks nonsense for cash (and yes, these people were paid by the BBC)

    • It depends on your objectivity

Louis Theroux's motivation is clear, to make a show about odd people for his own gain.

This ET guy in particular is no different in believing there is a Korton to anyone else believing there is a god. He has a right to carry on as he wishes. There is no suggestion that he cashes in on it only that he wishes to serve for the greater good with what he believes in. And what makes you think that the BBC pays these people at all? I'd guess they don't but if there is a transaction I'm sure it's meagre.

LT uses school yard tactics to gather sniggers from the audience in the cheap seats at the people that are a bit different and don't fit into his micro brained british correct menality. A little ring leader for snide comments.

You can see how he tries to interrupt conversations to hone in on a point to elaborate for the purpose of making it sound out of context. "So you are saying you can talk to Aliens!" is cue to the audience for sniggers.

And more to my disgust of the man is how he wimps about. He had a wonderful opportunity given to him in the Demolision Derby Episode whereby all he wanted to do was judge and mock those people for their hillbilly redneck lifestyle. They treated him as a friend and to their utter disappointment he backed out of competing half way through a race that he asked to be entered in to, which they supported him to get there, they put their backs into the hard work needed to make it happen and he piszed all over it and quit with his "oh I don't want to because it hurts" attitude. The host couldn't hide his utter disappointment at how lame LT's spirit is. If LT were a horse he'd do the right thing and shoot it.

In Florida he tried to mock people that make thousands of sales because that didn't fit into his idea of shopping and selling.

In the wrestling episode he tried to tell those super strong and fit men that "it's not real sport really".

Another day a guy successfully showed him how to get girls interested in him, what a challange to get a girl interested in Mr Specky Weed (and how long it would last is an entirely different story) and what did Louis Theroux do?.. Moan!.. "I feel really awful doing this". Personally I'm married now but when I was in the game and I got a girl interested in me I was feeling charged up! How can this guy complain about absolutely everything? He's a fkucing loser that's how!

Sometimes the people he meets are funny and colourful but to call him a "genius" for that?! Not a chance. Quite stupid in fact not to acknowledge how wonderfully interesting they are even if it's easy to suggest they might be a bit barmy sometimes. He meets all of these go-getters full of enthusiasm, people that actually get things done and are often successful in what they choose to do and tries to tack it down. It makes me think of those tatty little newspapers that get awful candid pictures of beautiful celebrities and try tell you how ugly they are.
If he could he'd tell you that Heinz are stupid for thinking they could grow beans, bake them, put them in a can and people would buy them from the shelves.

If you search for Louis Theroux you'll find his name comes up with another take down artist Martin Bashir. Notorious for having a go at Micheal Jackson.

Like Bashir Louis Theroux is a sham.
