This place breed and bought all those cats and then makes up a sob story about abuse they are all the same cats and they still make up a bunch of lies to pull in donations real sanctuaries take in any wild animal not just cats shes just getting people to donate to pay for her pets look around on google she slanders real sanctuaries with her 911 animals abuse sight then redirects people to her sight with her lies she is a liar and she killed her husband and feed him to her cats. ITS ALL TRUE look a couple pages deep she buries everything by blogging to death about her pseudo sanctuary "breeding compound and not a true sanctuary!!" DO NOT DONATE MONEY TO CAROLE BASKINS AKA CAROLE LEWIS SHE IS RUNNING A BIZ OFF PEOPLES DONATIONS ITS A SCAM.

We have been a sanctuary now for 16 years and we did breed some cats to begin with as we were under the impression that we were doing a good thing and protecting the species etc... But soon realised that we were doing nothing but keeping more cats in cages so we stopped any breeding a long long time ago and spay and neuter all our cats now. Alot of so called sanctuaries who are against us are the ones who breed their animals, take them out in public and have contact with them daily at their facility all of which Big Cat Rescue does NOT do! As a staff member I know all the profit from our tours goes towards caring for our 140 cats and we do rescue cats from horrible situations as I've been on rescues myself. So please take the time to research what other sanctuaries do to bring in money for themselves then look at what we do.

Theyre wild animals and u have them caged up like pet rats, i think its disgusting. Safari parks and game reserves are where those beautiful animals should be protected and helped, not in a small cage while people gawp at them as if theyre a commodity. If you ever vist that place watch for the animals pacing back and forth, thats dementure/insanity, when the cat becomes so stir crazy it just paces. they want to hunt, not be fed thro bars! disgusting!

The people at big cats rescue are probably not the ones who plucked them from their natural environment. They are most likely the unwanted animals that had no place to go. It is very surprising the degree of unwanted and uncared for animals. Some times these animals just make it to a game reserve where some guy just pays to come and shoot them.
By wheninrome 1235860525 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveThanks for your comments, we totally agree that these cats should be out in the wild being wild cats and not being kept as "pets" in someone's backyard. But unfortunately the laws in America aren't strict enough regarding ownership of exotic animals and this is something we are trying very hard to change so we don't have to keep turning cats away each year that we simply cannot afford to take care of. It costs us $7500 each year to feed a lion or tiger and we have over 140 big cats who we need to provide a home for until they pass away. We hope one day to put ourselves out of business and get the laws changed so people cannot own a tiger as it is always the animals that suffer. Thanks for watching!
