So...change the color of anything by grabbing the brush and sloppily coloring it? Or am I supposed to ignore the red spilled all over the background?

not precise ... because some of the edges have the original color ... there are a better ways to do this and with more accuracy .. sorry !!!

  Adobe Photoshop, version used in the video was CS3. It's not cheap so unless you're heavily into graphics design I wouldn't even consider it tbh, although it is a lot of fun to use - used to own an older copy of 8/CS.
