To the person at METACAFE, the last post didn't need stars between the f and r in 4 "banger", because the term "banger" refers to the number of cylinders in the engine, and this is a common used term to automotive nuts, owners, racers, mechanics, magazine article writers..... your edit makes it look like I typed vulger or swear words. Just thought I would send this in explaination to you. Thanks for having a feature that we can make comments to and on.

Looks like there are not a lot of JEEP fans......after listening to this again, I'm more convinced that the engine is a 4 "banger" and not an inline or V-6. And a 4.0 carb....is that supposed to mean 4 litre or 4 barrel??? My brain isn't small and I'm not crazy...... I have installed 198 cubic inch V-6's in CJ-2's, 429 cubic inch and 472 as well as 500 cubic inch Cadillac V-8's in CJ-5's, CJ-6's and CJ-7's.... the 500 Caddy was a 1976 low compression and low hp, but it would IDLE up this little obstacle in low-range.... the 429 cubic inch engine would pull the wheels off the ground and in 2-wheel drive would do mid 13 sec 1/4 mile runs on 30 inch street tires, when in 4-wheel-drive across a muddy field it threw much and mud 30 feet in the air. elaguacate needs to be more informed about 4x4's in general and realize there are very experianced people that view this site and there are EXPERTS even . When a person has been involved for more than 30 years with engine, transmission, transfer-case swaps, they tend to not be impressed with "STOCK" and standard equipment on a JEEP......in closing the V-6 engines odd-fire and even-fire have a very distinct sound and they have very good low RPM torque..... the vehicle in this clip has neither of these engines.... anyone else want to verify what I just posted???? I did not insult or use any insulting language in this post, can you?

Ok experts, listen to the engine: it is an inline 6, not a V-6 and it isn't a V-8 either, know what you are referring to when posting or making coments. It doesn't take a LARGE brain to determine this is a STOCK JEEP. Low 4x4, as you call it does not need to be cranked up in RPM's this high to climb such a LITTLE obstacle as shown. Finally those are not HUGE tires. Study up on this stuff a little, know what you are talking about and say it.

I'm not impressed. A "stock" Jeep is not amazing and this is not an AMAZING display of power. This is what the vehicle was designed to do. Off-Road, unpaved roads, up and down over rough irregular terrain is this vehicles forte', and it does that. Put huge tires and huge V-8 with lots of low-end torque in it and T H E N you will see AMAZING.
