    • For 405nm and 100mW, not good

      The maximum permissible exposure would be exceeded in about 7 microseconds - over 1,000 times faster than an eye blink.

      It's a Class IIIb laser at that range. UK permits only class II (<1mW) and the USA class IIIR (<5mW) in laser pointers.

      Wear goggles while using it! Even the reflections are bright.

      I think the smoking of whatt it is your lighting would have a bad effect on you retina, except for one certain thing.

    • Like any Laser....

      ....it should never be pointed at anyones eyes. If you notice when I am lighting the cigar it is not in my mouth so I am not pointing it toward my face.

      ...on this one was probably 12 to 14 hours, I could not sell them at the price they would have to be to even break even :).

      I do not make lasers to sell I am afraid. You do not need to know anything about electronics with this one, as long as you can solder you can follow the tutorial and build this.

    • I don't know....

      ..yet, I had been showing it to everyone at work all day before making the video. I expected to have to change the batteries when I wanted to start lighting things but after another day of people finding out what it would smoke or melt it is still going strong.
