The Giant Drop at Dreamworld, near Coomera, Queensland, Australia, drops from a height of 119 m (390 ft), giving riders five seconds of free fall time before being brought to a halt by electromagnetic brakes. The ride, which is as tall as a 30-storey building, opened on 26 December 1998 and cost AU$12 million (£4.5 million or US7.4 million). what would happen if there was a power failure at the crucial moment
and the eletromagnetic brakes failed to energise. those poor people would end up somewhere in europe.
Yeah, maybe the power would suddenly fail, or possible there could be a tsunami while they were at the top and they would all be saved? Or...maybe even an earthquake in japan that would cause a crack in the ocean that would unleash godzilla, then he could run over to this place and piss on the tower. wtf dude, don't hold yourself back because there is a snowball's chance in hell that something could go wrong. Live your life now, cuz you won't get a chance later. besides it won't matter in a 100 years anyway.

By sictirma nickine 1235990382 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removethe electromagnets would be electronically controlled, and both they and the controller would run on DC power - I guarantee there's a battery bank to keep it running even if the power fails in the middle of braking
