The video depicts testing of an energy absorbing webbing to ANSI 359.1-1992 (R1999). The test measures both the maximum arrest force and the deployment distance resulting from the drop of a 220 pound test mass from a height of six feet under ambient conditions. Sturges also tests to the Canadian Safety Association standard dropping either a 100 kG or 160 kG test mass 1.75meters under ambient, hot dry, wet, cold and frozen conditions. The purpose of the test is to verify performance characteristics of webbing produced for the fall restraint industry. For more information, go to www.sturgesstraps.com
