ok so
lemme get this straight

1. you slice a line in the skin al the way around the potatoe
2. boil water
3. put potato in boiling water
4. fill bowl with ice water
5. put potato in ice water after boiling
6. take potato out and pull skin off

im pretty sure there are probably faster ways to peel potatoes

  Use a potato peeler. You can peel a potato in probably 10 seonds, rather than letting it boil for 5 minutes.
