Why is something neat a waste of time

Sony used this technique for his new Bravia and, in their pub, they call that the "motion flow" technique, to justify the change of the number of images per second (before 24) in their new gadget.
And to get this "motion flow", they use a "folioscope" ! And Sony has surely asked for patent for that.
This "technique" is as old as the world... At last, almost !
