That was grisly.

He survived, but must have been one scary situation to first have to cling onto to helicopter for dear life to keep beign thrown into the propellers, then fall into the water just to see propellers coming down on you.

What happened to the poor man?

I think the pilot and the co pilot survived because one of them climbs out at the end. But I think the winch man was injured or died because he would of got crushed by the helicopter or injured by the rotor blades decintergrating into the water. But he might of survived !!!

Their heads almost got chopped off.

Boy that poor guy on the winch line. Almost looked as if he was going to make it.

That guy that jumped must have been sliced to ribbons by the rotor blades. I just can't see how he might have survived...

What happened that the pilot lost control of the chopper?

I fly helicopters and from what I can see it looks like the pilot was possibly having another problem before he even dipped it in the water. He's looks to be all over the place.

At first I thought his tail rotor (the fan types are called fenestrons) quit on him before he even touched the water and he backed off the throttle to cancel the torque that would spin him (and making him come down). But then I saw as he hit the water the fenestron is spitting water through it.

Something else that could have happened if he was coming in too fast he could have gotten into settling with power, which is in effect getting stuck in your downwash. It can progress very quickly and only speeds as time goes on. I can't say for sure though because I didn't see his whole descent.

If you lose the tail rotor the proper procedure is too chop the throttle which will IMMEDIATLY stop the turn and allow you some control in setting the bird down. It doesn't really look like he did that, but he did do a damn good job at keeping the helicopter upright as long as he did (watch the rotor disc flail about).

i hope that those roaters of the helicopter didnt kill that guy that jumped off the boat!! omg !

men this is so sad he just flight and he falls and the helicopter cut him into pices!!:( =[ :[
