My grandfather fought. when Soviet forces started to push the germans back US opened a second front because they were afraid Soviets would take over the whole europe and go further than that.

another classic american. 3 millions without guns? Ha ha ha ha . That was the worst bullshit i've ever heard. To inform you russians had the best weapons in the WW 2 . What about T-34? Germans could not even match until 1944
when the production of the latest Panzer tanks started . but then it was too late.
They had state of the art machine guns for their era . They do lost too many because of luck of training . Everybody had guns . The only thing they lacked was air superiority . That was because of the lack of firepower of their planes .
Their plane's manouverability was more than good.

First of all, Russia DID have a massive problem in arming all of their soldiers. There were many soldiers who went without rifles and ammo for long periods of time.

Also, it is a widely held FACT that the Germans had the most advanced weapons for most of the war. The Russian tanks weren't superior to German tanks, the Russians just had 10 times as many tanks as the Germans did but this wouldnt even have been possible if the US didn't give the Soviets free steel and fuel.

Arguablly the best and most reliable tank of WWII. First tank to introduce the sloped armor technology. Ok the germans had great tanks but they had a tendacy to break down and they were very cumbersome. Oh and one other thing.. The soviets had there own steel and fuel.. Hell, hitler lost the east campaign partly because he rerouted his forces to get to the Soviet fuel... But it's true that most russian conscripts were ill armed.

There maybe about 100000 but not more than that.
It is also true that russians had 10 times more tanks than germans did as well as planes from 1944 . it is also true that stalin had send a massage that said that if someone didn't go to war should be executed. He did all these things because he wanted to cupture the whole europe before allies do it.The game was over for germans since 1942 were they failed to capture moscow. Since then russians started a counter attack and never stoped or failed somewere.

Moreover , germans hadn't got more advanced weapons from russians ( except from planes) until 1944( tigerII tank) .They did a suprise attack to the russians and were very experienced in war thats why they killed so many

From 1944 were allies invaded europe hitler had 90% of their army against Russia and 10% against Allies. So imagine what would happen if things were reversed.

As for the allied help it is true that US gave to russians many matterials which were really usefull but only if you count them from 1941- 1945 you will notice that were many enought. This means that if they didn't send them, the russians would
definitely win again. The thing that kept them alive was their huge industry not the allied help

eugenes, that is simply untrue. In the BEGINNING of the European campaign, Germany attacked Russia with about 60% of their entire force while the rest was in Africa and other parts of Europe. Then when the US-led allies invaded normandy, the Germans withdrew some of their forces from the eastern front with Russia to help defend the western front. The amount of resources and troops that the Germans devoted were pretty equal once France was liberated and Russia started pushing back the Germans out of Russian land.

The Russians simply did NOT have the ability to maintain their war effort during the whole war without American aide. Russia had a shortage of food, fuel, clothes, steel, rubber, and other materials that you absolutely NEED to produce equipment to win a large scale war. In fact, almost 70% of all the ammunition, tanks, other vehicles, guns, clothes and food that the Russians used in WWII either came from the US or were built in Russia with material that came from the US. What could Russia possibly have done to defend themselves against the Germans if they were all naked with no shoes, starving, had no ammunition, no vehicles and no radio equipment.

Russia simply would have been defeated by the Germans if the US didn't aide them.

The reason Russia relied heavily on the US is because their communist government was a piece of crap. It wasn't a fault of the Russian people, it was the fault of their corrupt and opressive government that would rather have their leaders live in luxury while their people starved and froze to death.

It wasn't 90/10%. It maybe was 50/50% but i still believe that it was at least 60/40%. Anyway the facts you write are right so you maybe right.

Shut the fuck up. Get your facts straight dont read what they write in American encyclopedias or what ever you are reading. Read some from other countries. SOVIET UNION(USSR) had enough resources. We didnt need American help. Americans just wants to say that without them Soviets would have lost. US opened the second front well after Soviet Forces stated to drive the germans out of their land. Russian winter played a big role just to let you know.

You are so fuckin stupid man. The tanks were better and thats why we won the Tank battle after which german army was fucked straight to Berlin and US waited till the Soviets started to advance toward germany when they opened the second front in fear that Soviet forces will take over whole Europe and maybe even more. So dont give me this crap. US had nothing to do with the tank making and fuel. the fuel came from the fields close to Stalingrad. So if Stalingrad( now Volgograd) would have been lost than the Germans would have been unstopable. And US did not do a huge differance in fighting the German army. 80% of Germans lost in the war were killed by RUSSIAN Troops.

They went to fight with weapons. tere was not enough of the weapons though because the attack came sudden and you had to do something to keep them from advancing. We still won bitch.
