By Mathslim 1159906522 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removei've seen drifting, but this is sick. gotta luv them. i would die for a chance to learn how to do that.
By blondutzza 1159902657 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removepick a good car, a good tire, and adjust the suspension, you'll need practice off course, but nothing so great like F1 or indy!
By Mathslim 1159906840 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYou are somewhat correct Mathslim. And i', not contradicting you. U do need a good car, meanin alot of torque to swing the car properly and also to pull it out of a tight drift coming out of a corner. But u don't really need good tires. Then again it depends what u define as good. Good meaning still road worthy? Yes. But thay are better when a little worn, makes for the sliding easier. And on you third point, Yes. As in everything else lot of practice. Especially in this. Alot of control required, look how close those 2 guys are to each other, but very much still controlled.

What you don't see is how it all ends and what the were drifting to, I however was lucky enough to be there.....they were headed to McDonald's,....the prize,...a Chicken Nugget Happy Meal.
By RUDEDOG 1161195276 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Remove It's two damn cars drifting. Your reading a little to much into it. You don't have to write a damn background check on it!

By kashiboy80 1160027478 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWe did this 20 years ago both on the streets and on tracks and empty parking lots. It's forever been called broad sliding, controlled sliding or power sliding. If you have enough torque, the tire is not an issue. However this is not the most efficient way to corner. Keeping traction with proper power and braking and good handling of the car is best. But there is nothing more fun than gettin sideways on the throttle. YEEHAW!!!!

By PointPrimer 1160222045 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removenow thats skillfull driving. .. .. .
well cool
All this talk about 'drifting is so cool,, it takes so much skill,, blah blah blah,,'. What a joke. Power sliding has been around for years. We all did it when we were kids because thats how they did car chases in the movies. Go watch any old cops n robbers or action flicks, and you'll see it, especially the cop cars.
It doesnt take any more skill than any other type of driving that takes you beyond normal driving, all you need is a car that can use its own power to kick its own butt around and slide it through a turn. Its fun, it looks cool, but by no means is it 'the next big thing'. Just another re-hash that got a new name.
Some races done on dirt tracks are nothing but 'drifting', the cars never point straight the entire time they go around the track. Sprint cars, outlaws, and many others have done it for years.
You like drifting, fine. But quit worshipping these dudes as though they've come up with something new, because they havent.
yes yes but older than that even!!
By Ver0 1160591181 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removesomebody needs to wet their tires before taking off. they stick better. fuq drifting is for drunk people
By mr.nice.guy 1159887017 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveWow they come so close but never really touch - that must rellay take control , and lots of practice too ...
By bobby52 1159875754 Reply Spam [-1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeand it takes good tyres!
By sssy 1159881609 Reply Spam [+1] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removetires are surely important and good grip on the road . But the important thing is of course the drivers talent in handling the wheel and and other controls ..
